Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa

On Labor Day 2022, we flew over to Kona, HI to photograph the Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa. Our goal was to create social media & internal communications content images. The focus of the shoot was to highlight the Deluxe Oceanfront Suite’s view of the manta rays, cultural activities provided by the resort, as well as the breakfast and dinner services at the Voyager 47 club lounge. 

We had stayed at the resort a few weeks prior as a long weekend away from Maui and had unintentionally done our location scout of the property at that time. The biggest challenge was creating a timeline for our time on property and making sure that we were able to hit the Voyager 47 club, the cultural events around the property, and the manta rays at sunset. This timeline was created by Ashlyn and the marketing director communicating back and forth the week before our shoot. 

With Ashlyn’s timeline in hand, we were given full creative license to photograph the resort as we saw it. Ashlyn would see details that Brandon would overlook and Brandon would see angles that Ashlyn wasn’t able to see. This allows us to maximize our time, energy, and creativity on shoots as large as this.

What we delivered:

The hallways of the Outrigger Kona Resort. The resort is all outside so you can see the view of the ocean as you walk between rooms.

The Oceanfront Deluxe Suite was perfect to photograph and was even better for the views! You could see Keauhou Bay perfectly and when the sun went down, the rays put on an incredible show at night!
